“Didn't stay but ate in the restaurant on the Friday evening of our weekend in beer. We booked a table but there was plenty of space and we had a choice of tables. Menu choice was good and the prices reasonable. We only had main courses and the blackened chicken and chicken burger was both excellent, the steak pie good (could have done with more steak in it!) and the fish pie OK (too much mash, not enough fish). Vegetables were all very nice. The staff were all lovely and helpful, they had a very good beer selection but the only cider on draft was Thatchers Gold which is decent enough but I would have expected them to have a more interesting/local cider!”
“Would give more stars if I could. We visited Beer as part of our road trip and we couldn’t be happier to have stayed at the Dolphin. The room we got was impeccably clean, very spacious and well-equipped. The bed was big and comfortable. Free coffee, tea and biscuits were waiting for us when we checked in. Staff were extremely pleasant and welcoming and very apologetic about the fact that our TV wasn’t working. Not a problem, we’re here for the views, not the “views”. ;-) Beer has this quaint seaside town vibe that bleeds the love people have for it. Lots of nice touches and clean views and beaches.”
“Lovely midweek stay. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly. The room (deluxe) was lovely and spacious with nice decor, comfy bed and great shower. The bar areas are cosy and nice to relax in. Easy to get onto the coastal paths to walk in either direction. Very pretty views.”
“They have an extensive menu to choose from and my choice of Sunday Roast Beef was a nice size and the extra cauliflower cheese was great as it had a decent cheese, rather than flour, flavour with a nice amount of seasoning. Their Harissa chicken was well received, as was their Fish n Chips. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The venue was spacious and comfortable with tasteful decor, and the restrooms were clean and clearly signposted.”
“We stayed here for a birthday short getaway in a Delux room. No sea-views, but the beach is 200 meters away. Wonderful location, great service and the room is cosy traditional, unlike the over-futuristic hotel rooms you get these days. Restaurant hotel app is good, waiting about 20 min for the food, got a free soft drink. Bed is massive and very comfortable. Room is nice and warm end of April/May. Thank you to all the staff and management!!”
“Cosy rooms, warm with plenty of hot water. Beds and pillows super comfy. Pub grub and breakfasts were excellent and service also really good. Very reasonable prices all round. Would highly recommend.”
